The Brief
The feature frontage of this building was designed in principle by the client's architect and we worked with him to provide a practical and economical solution.  The exposed columns are entirely for appearance and do not contribute to the structure.  Horizontal cladding is a popular feature and is used locally in this project for effect with the remainder being constructed in vertical cladding, which requires less maintenance.  A curved roof is a perfectly functional feature and is good value as an option for a softer appearance.

A custom-built factory and warehouse for the manufacturer of specialist petfood, the building was designed in detailed collaboration with the client to ensure that his new production methods were accommodated, working to a very strict budget.

West Designs
The Brief
From assistance in location of site, right through planning, design and construction, our client benefited from best value and an optimised facility for their warehouse and distribution business and new head office.  This is a highly functional building, with no requirement for architectural features.  It proved to be a showpiece for our skills in sustainable construction.

The Brief
The steep slope of this site appeared to limit development potential but we took advantage of it to create a two storey warehouse.  It is exceptional in that a fully loaded warehouse is suspended over the lower storage level.  A new production building was also provided combining to an area of 9700m².
