Weald Granary is a farmer co-operative that stores, markets and hauls grain. Directline Structures successfully won the tender to construct a new office and warehouse facility. The total floor space of the building is 500m2 and is split into 280m2 office over two floors and a 220m2 warehouse. A biomass boiler was specified to provide the heating and hot water for the building. This boiler uses the waste husks from the grain silos as its fuel source. Weald granary now benefits from the sustainable and renewable energy source it has on site that was previously considered as a waste product.
